Pyörre house can be classified as a hybrid structure

Pyörre, a low-carbon circular economy model house, is revolutionising Finnish housing construction.

Pyörre house is involved in the Ministry of the Environment's low-carbon construction pilot, which develops a suitable way for different building types to assess the carbon footprint and carbon handprint. In addition, the design of the building will test the EU's design criteria for adaptability, dismantlability, and recyclability as the first Finnish building.

The building is a thesis on how much of the building can be built using recycled raw materials. Every year, half of the earth's raw materials are used for construction, so material choices and product comparison are especially important in today's construction. Efforts have also been made to trace and find out where the materials end up at the end of their life cycle.

When the Pyörre House is completed, we will make a material statement for the house, which will show the proportion of recycled and renewable raw materials and the recycling possibilities of different materials at the end of the life cycle if the decision is ever made to demolish the house. The house has also used numerous new innovations that enable low-carbon construction.

Building the future must also be revitalizing its environment. In the case of the Pyörre house, it has been taken into account in the design of the environment. Carbon sinks are brought into the yard with the help of plants, biocarics and recycled concrete crush.
